Assessments

Track weight, body measurements, body composition, lab values, and progress photos over time.

Assessments let you track a client's physical progress over time. Every measurement is timestamped and stored in a timeline, so you can see trends and make data-driven decisions.

Assessments can be logged by you (the practitioner) or by the client through the portal. Each entry shows a Self-logged or Practitioner badge so you always know the source.

Assessment types

Open a client → Assessments tab. You'll see four sub-sections:

Weight

The most frequently tracked metric. Each entry records:

FieldDescription
WeightCurrent weight — input has a unit selector (kg / lbs)
BMIAuto-calculated from height (if set on the client profile)
DateAssessment date
NotesOptional context (e.g., "post-Diwali check-in")

The weight section shows:

  • Current weight and BMI at the top
  • Change from the previous entry (green for loss, orange for gain)
  • Full history with per-entry deltas

Record a weight entry

Click Record Weight in the Assessments tab.

Enter the details

FieldExample
Weight68.5 (kg or lbs — select from dropdown)
Date10 Apr 2026
NotesAfter 2 weeks on plan

Save

The client's current weight updates automatically. BMI recalculates if height is set.

Encourage clients to self-log weight through the portal. Their entries appear here automatically with a "Self-logged" badge, saving you data entry time.

Body measurements

Track circumference measurements over time. Each field supports cm or inches — the unit follows your practice default but can be switched per-field.

MeasurementUse case
WaistCentral obesity indicator
HipWHR calculation
ChestUpper body tracking
ArmMuscle gain tracking
ThighLower body tracking
CalfLower body tracking
NeckSleep apnea risk, Navy body fat estimation

The section auto-calculates Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR) when both waist and hip are recorded, shows deltas from the previous measurement, and can estimate body fat percentage using the Navy method (requires waist, neck, and height; hip for females).

Body composition

For clients using BIA machines, DEXA scans, or skinfold calipers:

FieldDescription
Body fat %Total body fat percentage
Muscle mass %Skeletal muscle percentage
Visceral fatVisceral fat level (1-59 scale)
BMR (kcal)Basal metabolic rate
MethodBIA, skinfold, DEXA, or manual

Lab values

Record blood work and other lab results with normal range flagging:

FeatureDescription
Panel presetsBlood Sugar, Lipid Profile, Thyroid — auto-fills parameters and normal ranges
Custom parametersAdd any lab value with custom normal ranges
Auto-flaggingValues outside normal range are flagged as ↑ High or ↓ Low

Example — recording a lipid profile:

ParameterValueUnitNormal RangeFlag
Total Cholesterol220mg/dL0–200↑ High
LDL145mg/dL0–100↑ High
HDL52mg/dL40–200Normal
Triglycerides180mg/dL0–150↑ High

Lab values are stored as structured data, not free text. This means you can track trends over time — for example, seeing how a client's HbA1c changes across multiple assessments.

Client self-logging

When the Client Portal is enabled, clients can self-log:

  • Weight — from the Stats → Weight tab
  • Body measurements — from the Stats → Body tab
  • Progress photos — from the Stats → Photos tab (requires consent)

All self-logged entries appear in the Assessments tab with a Self-logged badge and also show up in the client's Timeline.

The Portal tab in the client hub shows a combined weight trend with both practitioner and self-logged entries, plus the engagement dashboard. Use it for a quick overview without switching to the Assessments tab.
